The Lead Payroll Coordinator works with the payroll specialist, payroll coordinators, and Division accounting manager to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll and the weekly expense runs. This position requires a willingness to work as a member of a payroll team in a cooperative manner. This position requires someone who is consistent, reliable, detail oriented, and able to think critically, & has good basic math skills. The Lead Payroll Coordinator must be organized and maintain records for audit purposes. This position requires someone with advanced knowledge of the payroll process, and the ability and desire to implement process improvements to the payroll process. This person will serve as a mentor to the payroll specialist and payroll coordinators within the department. This position supervises the payroll specialist position to ensure proper learning and growth. This position will serve as backup for the payroll manager to ensure timely payment of payroll taxes & filing of tax returns during periods of absence. The Lead Payroll coordinator assists the payroll manager with testing, training, problem solving, issue resolution and all other duties as assigned.
